Grandma Helen
The Common Matriarch of the Thomas, Freeman and McCulloch family branches. Perhaps we should call this the Grandma Helen Family Blog? Let us know what you think. You can email your thoughts directly to jameshubbard1@msn.com.
Wait a minute. Isn't Great Grandma Helen, Grandpa Thomas' and Auntie Margaret's mother? I am just making sure I track the lineage correctly. She sure looks like a determined women. Character and even the "Pioneer Spirit" seems to show in her picture. Am I the only one thinking like this?
Yep, she was a very strong woman. Remember the story about the man robbing the liquor store. Grandma Helen had 1 son and 2 daughters. The other daughter is Audrey. She had 2 children Dixie and Kenneth
I also vote yes. she was a wonderful person. Grandpa Thomas said that when he was young and she had to work so they lived with their grandma Cuddy he didn't realize all that she did for them. They lived in Fontana with Grandma Cuddy and every weekend Grandma Helen would drive there from L.A. and visit and take food and I think he said also do the wash. They hated Sundays when she would go back to L.A. and until he died he hated Sunday evenings. They always depressed him. Dad said that after she would leave on Sunday evening Grandma Cuddy would drive to the Bloomington cemetary and let him drive her car around in there. He was about 10 or 12 years old. Linda
