Dad's plane
I remember a trip we went on. I think it was just the younger kids this time. Mom refused to go up and made dad just taxi around the air field with us. It was exciting. Then there was the time he almost got thrown in jail for buzzing our house on Gordon St, in Long Beach. Had the FAA chasing him down. Posted by Joyce
Grandpa Thomas's Plane
Rodger, told me a story Grandpa told him about flying his airplane. He said he was flying his plane over the mountains close to his home. He decided to see how close to the ground he could get. He flew closer and closer to the ground. Just as he crested the mountain top, and all of a sudden, the down draft on the other side started sucking him down to the ground. His plane was on its way down. He had to gas the engine and immediately pull up. He claimed he thought he was a goner.
