Then there was the time he and Hans, a lifelong friend, tried to run aground driving up the LA river. Needed money from insurance of totaling speed boat to buy new cabin cruiser. I think booze had something to do with that. Not sure if this was the boat directly after the speed boat or the next one. At any rate, fiasco failed. Some good samaritan came to their rescue. We eventually got the Virginia I.
